Lile International’s owners, Diane DeAutremont and Barbara Lile, recently collaborated with the Institute for Economic Empowerment for Women and its Peace Through Business program to mentor a woman entrepreneur, Shakila Rozbeh, from Afghanistan.

“When I consider my life to date, I feel tremendously fortunate,” DeAutremont said. “And I feel that this is the perfect opportunity, in a very small way, to give back and hopefully contribute to bettering the world.”

Shakila Rozbeh, 26, started her business, The Association Coordination of Afghan Women, with the altruistic intentions of helping out her fellow countrywomen. Her business distributes raw materials to skilled women artisans in her community and then takes the finished products from those women and distributes them on a large scale to other buyers. 

Terry Neese, founder of the Peace though Business program said: “Mentorship is the heart and soul of Peace though Business, and it’s because of women like Diane DeAutremont that the program is so successful,” Neese said.
