Founded in 1959, Lile International Companies recently celebrated their 50 year anniversary. This milestone was marked with a celebration at Lile’s corporate office in Tigard, Oregon, inviting customers and employees to join together to appreciate the strong relationships developed over the years.

Lile International’s owners, Diane DeAutremont and Barbara Lile, recently collaborated with the Institute for Economic Empowerment for Women and its Peace Through Business program to mentor a woman entrepreneur, Shakila Rozbeh, from Afghanistan.

“When I consider my life to date, I feel tremendously fortunate,” DeAutremont said. “And I feel that this is the perfect opportunity, in a very small way, to give back and hopefully contribute to bettering the world.”

Shakila Rozbeh, 26, started her business, The Association Coordination of Afghan Women, with the altruistic intentions of helping out her fellow countrywomen. Her business distributes raw materials to skilled women artisans in her community and then takes the finished products from those women and distributes them on a large scale to other buyers. 

Terry Neese, founder of the Peace though Business program said: “Mentorship is the heart and soul of Peace though Business, and it’s because of women like Diane DeAutremont that the program is so successful,” Neese said.

Lile will be participating in the 2010 Pacific NW Organizing Expo on January 30th at Montgomery Park in Portland, Oregon. Hosted by the Oregon Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), this tradeshow will feature companies offering the latest in organizing products and techniques. Lile’s booth will highlight some of our services including local, long-distance and international household moving as well as warehousing and storage capabilities.
